India is among those countries where maternal mortality rates in rural areas are among the worlds highest. Malnutrition and other antenatal and postnatal causes account for most of these deaths. Access to maternal health care and family planning is generally limited among rural communities. The Child Development Nepal is trying to address this gap as part of its healthcare initiative. The Organisation works towards improving the integrated health of its villagers and providing ante and post natal care to the women.
One of the goals of the Organisation is to provide quality mother and child care in all participant villages. Till date 12000 antenatal women have been identified and follow up carried out. Nearly 42,000 children have been immunised as part of our healthcare services.
